Welcome to Silverways

The Silverways website is being designed to go public as a resource for women who have adopted online technology with no previous exposure to computer technology until they were 'three score and ten'. The ethos of the web-site is to generate and celebrate proactive narratives of ageing that celebrate the 'elder' in 'elder-ly'.

Resources are to include links to useful information and guides, including on using online services, recreation and hobbies; issues around online disclosure and online identity particularly in relation to the use of online social spaces e.g. Facebook, blogs an wikis. Terms used including those used on this site will be included in a glossary of definitions.
